GOVS permit

This page is for an Egyptian importer or processor asking about frozen boneless buffalo from India. Crestline Exports does not claim an Egypt office, a GOVS registration, or a Halal certificate already issued for a lot.
Egypt’s WTO notification G/TBT/N/EGY/313/Add.3 says a Halal certificate is among the requirements for a veterinary import permit from the General Organization for Veterinary Services, and that slaughterhouses exporting meat are approved at GOVS and certified by a body GOVS has approved. The notification names IS EG Halal as that body at the time of writing. A 2025 USDA FAIRS report still describes GOVS as the agency issuing the veterinary import permit.
This website does not show a plant registered with that body. Chemical lean, cut and packing are commercial points. Meat or mutton is discussed only if the importer’s permit covers that line. Cattle beef is not exported from India. GOEIC factory registration is not cited here, because the decree read on 9 October 2026 did not show meat in the commodity list that was checked.
